It's Activities Professionals Week across the nation (possibly the world). This is a week where people that work in activities in nursing and assisted living homes are honored for the work that they do.
Most of the time we get little gifts (like a lunch bag, or a coffee mug, or a pen), but this year we get nothing because the new administrator never responded to my boss' email in regards to gifts.
So, we got a message on a dry erase board in our tiny TINY office.
Although, it feels as if the company could give a damn about us, the joy that we bring to the residents is a tremendous reward. So I don't do it for the lunch bag, or the pen, or anything....I do it for those that I make a difference to.
