Day 357 of 365: I'll Walk with You

Ian and I went for an exploratory walk this afternoon to 1) check out the area and 2) get in some fitness!

Ian promised me that if I studied for my Life in the UK test and took it soon, that he would get serious about exercise and losing some weight with me. So today we went on our first walk. Nothing strenuous because it was day 1, but we walked up a hill to find a cemetery that Ian had seen on Google maps.

We found what could possibly be a grave to one of the women that used to live in our cottage before us as well. There are two headstones in the cemetery that have the woman's surname, so will have to ask the landlord which woman it is for sure.

We figured if we walk the walk we did every evening after we get in from work, it'll take us about an hour and once we're fit enough to do the walk without getting TOO out of breath, then we'll move on to a further distance.

Sounds good to me!

Day 90 of 365: When You're On Your Own...

Romsey Abbey

Went down to Romsey on my own today. Took the bus though, so it's slightly cheating.

BUUUTTTT...by taking the bus I learn the walking route better.

Had to go and register for the Dr., plus I went into Boots and SuperDrug to try and find something for my sore throat. Also had a cup of tea with my sister-in-law, Kathryn. ANNNDDD I went to the post office to get stamps to send cards back to Ohio.

Ian had called me. I went with him on a job in the afternoon and got to see the brewery near Portsmouth. Then he put together a dresser while I took a nap because I wasn't feeling well still.

Plus the weather has been GORGEOUS!

Day 89 of 365: It's A Beautiful Day

Went into Romsey with Mum today to learn how to get there via bus, and do some shopping.

I'm a broke joke now...lol. She had no money on her, sooooo...I paid for it all except for my one cup of coffee.

Bless her though.

The photo above though is of a momma duck with her babies hanging out by the river that runs next to the bus station in Romsey. Tomorrow I'll have to take more photos of the town to share.
