Day 287 of 365: To Breathe or Not to Breathe

Picked these things up on my way home from my driving lesson tonight. Ian has been sleeping on the couch because my cold has made my snoring WAY worse than normal, so I thought if I tried these things at night then my snoring would be less.

So, tonight is a trial run of smelling like an old lady and having really huge nostrils....

Day 273 of 365: Snowmen, Old Ladies, and Snuggies

FINALLY took a photo of the snowman that they made at work when I was home on Wednesday. Apparently some of the old dears sat and watched as one of the line managers, and our registered manager's son built the snowman. I have to say though, that the snow has made everyone work together at work, annndd the atmosphere is getting better. If only we could do away with some of the negative people, it would be MUCH better.

Anyways, Ian took me to and from work again today. Got in and our Snuggies had arrived!

And, btw, if my husband sees that I've posted this photo, he'll kill me. :p Taken on the sly with my mobile:

We're like kangaroos now because the Snuggies have a pocket in the front!

Day 272 of 365: Ahh You're My Best Friend

This is the heater in our bedroom...

...and it's my best friend this winter.

I usually switch it on an hour or so before we go to bed, because since it's so cold you can see your breath in the darn bedroom, the place needs to be slightly warm when we go in. Also helpes me look forward to bedtime because by the time we head up, the storage heaters aren't putting any heat out anymore, so the bedroom (which is usually the coldest room in the house) is the warmest room in the house.

And winter has only started!

Day 269 of 365: *chattering teeth*

This is, embarrassingly, what I look like most of the time at night in the house.

We live in a house that's about 110 yrs. old, have night storage heaters (with NO afternoon boost), and single pane glass windows (most homes have double pane).

Sooo...by the time Ian and I get home from work, the heat is barely around in the house.

But, Ian ordered Snuggies tonight, so hopefully we should be getting them in the next few days, since it's supposed to be even colder at the end of the week.

Also, spoke to my Dad and younger brother, Michael tonight. Was good to talk to them. My Dad is up to some hijinx at the moment, but he'll get it all sorted out. Broke my heart though to hear my Dad ask when we'll be going back to Ohio next, and I couldn't give an answer. He was very serious and said "Because we really miss you." Made me want to cry, but it's nice to know that I'm missed, because I miss them like crazy.

So, but, hopefully only 7 months until I see them again. Something to look forward to this summer.

Day 267 of 365: It Makes No Sense....

Rugby, that is....

Went to watch the London Welsh vs. Exeter match this afternoon with Ian, one if his bosses, and his boss's family. And it was bloody FREEZING!!!

I had NO clue what was going on with the match. It's nothing like American football (which I thought it would be). But basically, it was just guys running around in short shorts, some wearing foam helmets (I called them the "special ones"), and dog piling each other.

Oh well...chock this one up to experience!

Afterwards Ian and I went to my SIL, Cheryl's place for tea and some Beatles RockBand (my nephews wanted me to play with them, and yet I only sang one song and the boys wouldn't even let me touch the guitar or drums).

Now, home for bed.

Day 10 of 365: I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm

Told ya it was going to get worse!

This photo was taken after I shoveled the driveway a second time. My back is a bit sore, but I got it done. Annndd...it was easier than last year shoveling. Last year I was a bit more overweight and I was smoking at the time.

We're still supposed to get more snow though tonight and tomorrow. Don't want another even like last year though, so I HAD to shovel even though I didn't drive anywhere...although I did go out.

My Mom swung by and picked me up. We crawled to the craft store and bought the wedding invites. YAY! So we'll be working on those next weekend, along with probably picking up the things for favors.

And, after shoveling, I decided to make this:

I know, I cheated...but Ian and I had a lovey dovey conversation in the morning so I felt inspired to do this.

Stay warm, everyone! I'm gonna make me some soup!
