Day 315 of 365: Chirp Chirp

O.k....so this is a bit of a cheat entry today, because I didn't actually take the photo. It was taken by Jenny T, the kitchen assistant at work (she's a sweetheart, btw).

These little feathery things are the baby chicks that hatched over Easter weekend. My boss and I got a flyer in the post about a company called Living Eggs. So, we thought it would be adorable for Easter so we had it all set up. They were delivered early last week when I was on holiday, and today was the first day I had seen them. I picked them up, changed their bedding, almost killed them (the light fixture blew the bulb off of the unit and it shot across the box...the poor chicks! It LITERALLY scared the poop out of them), had some of the residents hold the chicks, and one of the carers and I gave most of them a bath in the sink in the toilet to wash the poo off their bums.

They go to a hobby farm this coming Saturday, but we still want to keep them. Just a shame that we no longer have grass in our courtyard because they could live out there free of harm. Oh well....hopefully they will go to a good home.

Day 238 of 365: Who Let The Dogs Out?

Long day at work again today, but it was quite good and everything went well this morning with our visitors.

Before leaving tonight (after an 11 hour day) I gave the dog at work, Harry, a little snuggle. He's an adorable dog, but his farts are the WORST that I have EVER smelled before. But, ya gotta love that face.

Day 199 of 365: "Turn Left at Greenland"

Spent the day with Ian's cousins, Sue and Jonnie. They're from Wigan, but are currently traveling around England to head back to Spain.

Sooo...went and saw them at their camp site (which is in The New Forest and we got to see Shetland ponies), then we went for a carvery.

Afterwards we went for a walk through Ringwood, where we came across a pub with an American flag out front! :)


And as we were walking back to the car, we passed by an old church (and if you know me, you know my love of old churches). Ian saw something crawling around, and look who we saw:


A little hedgehog! The first time I've seen one here. I was able to touch the little fella as well (well, I'm assuming it was a fella). He curled up into his protective ball. And you would think he looks furry, but he felt really hard. Poor little guy was really scared though, because he was still curled up when we left the cemetery.

Day 190 of 365: Moooooooo!!!!

Went on a coach ride with the residents for work today and we went to Avington again. Last week we went and spotted these guys, so we went back again today. I got out, and took a photo of the ones laying around in the trees, then I saw this lovely.

Ahhhh....how I love England. :)

Oh, and made it to Sainsbury's all by myself for the first time tonight. Woo hoo! :)

Day 176 of 365: Take a Walk on the Wild Side

I've only seen one preview for this new show starting on BBC One soon, but this video of the preview is absolutely HILARIOUS! Can't wait for this to start. :)
